• City Board passed on the police surveillance oversight ordinance again
  in Local News · Nov 4, 2026, 6:23 PM

Good idea, Carol. The agendas get posted ahead of time, so I'll try to dig through a few this week and see what's been going through on consent. Might take a couple evenings 😅 If I find anything…

• Apptegy layoffs - anyone hearing who's hiring around Little Rock?
  in Local News · Nov 4, 2026, 5:37 PM

Reading millage budget docs for fun, Kevin, that's dedication 😄 But you're right, the districts are huge employers and nobody counts them. One more angle, and it's me being me about new businesses…

• Apptegy layoffs - anyone hearing who's hiring around Little Rock?

Good call keeping this off the speculation. Nobody here knows what went on inside. Couple more to add to Kevin's list: UAMS and Arkansas Children's both hire IT and data people constantly and it's…

• GloWILD at the zoo, worth the ticket or one and done?
  in Events · Nov 3, 2026, 1:59 PM

Good call on checking the stadium schedule. War Memorial is right there, so a high school playoff game or anything else going on that night is going to eat the lots fast. Weeknights should be clear…

• City Board passed on the police surveillance oversight ordinance again

Saw this one and wanted to see what folks here think. Director Phillips tried a second time to get the surveillance oversight ordinance moving and the board didn't advance it. Last December's try…

• Western Hills, Mabelvale and McDermott closing - anyone heard where kids are being reassigned?
  in Local News · Oct 31, 2026, 3:56 PM

Heather's idea about one letter instead of five is the right call. A pile of separate emails is easy to file away, but one letter signed by a bunch of coaches and leagues is harder to ignore. I'd…

• Flock cameras: 690,000 different vehicles in 30 days??
  in Town Talk · Oct 31, 2026, 10:59 AM

Fair point on the 690k, Carol. Friday nights in the fall alone, plus everybody coming in off I-30 and I-40 for tournaments, plus the Benton and Maumelle commuters. The big number doesn't bug me as…

• Did the math on my Entergy bill. Up almost 40% from last year
  in Town Talk · Oct 27, 2026, 9:17 PM

Mine came out about the same when I ran it, a little over 17 cents. Quapaw Quarter has a lot of old houses and mine is one of them, so I feel your pain on the drafty part. Biggest thing for me was…

• Western Hills, Mabelvale and McDermott closing - anyone heard where kids are being reassigned?
  in Local News · Oct 16, 2026, 8:10 PM

Not a parent either, but this has been bugging me too. Four months since the vote and families are still getting a general email? That's not great with the end of the year coming up fast. I'd call…

• Cinnabon at the Outlets closed... where do you get a good cinnamon roll now?
  in Town Talk · Feb 10, 2024, 9:56 AM

Dang, I hadn't heard that one closed. Every time I walked past it at the Outlets I ended up buying one 😄 Community Bakery down on Main St has been around forever. I *think* they do cinnamon rolls…
